Born 14 October 1979 in Hamilton, New Zealand. Studied human biology and statistics at University of Auckland (BSc/MSc), then PhD at Iowa State (2008) under Di Cook and Heike Hofmann. Built the reshape/ggplot lineage of tools that became ggplot2 and later the tidyverse as Posit (RStudio) chief scientist.
