Glenn Hughes
Milestone (age 22)
By age 22 (1973), Hughes joined Deep Purple — then one of the world's biggest rock bands — as bassist and co-lead vocalist, and by age 26 (1977) he had recorded three albums with them including the classic 'Burn' (1974), 'Stormbringer' (1974), and 'Come Taste the Band' (1975).
Hughes fronted the Midlands beat combo Finders Keepers in the 1960s as a teenager, then formed the acclaimed funk-rock band Trapeze in 1969 at age 18. He recorded three albums with Trapeze (1970-1972) before being recruited by Deep Purple in 1973 after members Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, and Ian Paice scouted him at the Whisky a Go Go. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Deep Purple in 2016.

Evidence summary
Hughes built his career through early and sustained musical practice from his teens in the British Midlands rock scene. His exceptional funk-inspired bass playing and soulful countertenor vocal range set him apart, leading from Finders Keepers to Trapeze (three albums by age 21) and then to Deep Purple at 22. Family background is not documented in reviewed sources; his rise appears largely self-created through domain repetition and talent.
