Break a comparison
You are not the next Sid Vicious.
That is not pessimism. It is precision. You can study this path, but you cannot inherit its conditions, replay its sequence, or schedule its luck.

Keep the mechanisms. Drop the identity. Born Simon John Ritchie in Lewisham, London, to a single mother who sold marijuana, Vicious grew up in turbulent circumstances across Kent and Hackney. He met John Lydon at technical college in 1973 and became part of the 'Four Johns' squatting circle. He was a regular at Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood's SEX clothing shop, the hub of the emerging London punk scene. He joined the Sex Pistols as bassist in early 1977 at age 19, replacing Glen Matlock, and appeared on their landmark debut album released in October 1977.

Two forces, no new scores
Perseverance and luck both matter.
Documented perseveranceHe had no musical training and was famously unable to play bass competently, yet his persona and the Sex Pistols' cultural moment made him an icon. This records repeated behaviour or recovery described by sources; it is not a grit or merit score.
Encounter luckHe met John Lydon at technical college in 1973 and became part of the 'Four Johns' squatting circle. This is an unchosen opening or condition in the record, not an estimate of how much luck caused the outcome.
