You are not the next Mark Cavendish.

That is not pessimism. It is precision. You can study this path, but you cannot inherit its conditions, replay its sequence, or schedule its luck.

Keep the mechanisms. Drop the identity. Mark Cavendish was born on 28 January 1985 in Douglas, Isle of Man. He developed as a track cyclist, winning gold in the Madison at the 2005 Track Cycling World Championships at age 20 with Rob Hayles. He also won the European championship points race that year. He turned professional on the road in 2007 with T-Mobile (later HTC-Highroad), winning 11 races in his debut season including Scheldeprijs. In 2008, he won four Tour de France stages, and in 2009 he won six more, establishing himself as the fastest sprinter in the world. He went on to win the 2011 World Championship Road Race and equaled Eddy Merckx's record of 34 Tour de France stage wins.

Two forces, no new scores

Perseverance and luck both matter.

This is an unchosen opening or condition in the record, not an estimate of how much luck caused the outcome.
