Resig was born in Boston and started programming around age 13–14 with QBasic, learning HTML from a friend and books his father bought him for Christmas. He studied CS at RIT's Golisano College (2002–2009), conducting research on data mining IM networks with professor Ankur Teredesai and real-time collaboration with professor Jon Schull.
