Born in Glasgow to a large working-class family that emigrated to Sydney, Angus grew up surrounded by music — older brothers George (Easybeats star), Alex, and Malcolm were all musicians. He began playing guitar as a young teenager, joined local bands Kantuckee and Tantrum, and co-founded AC/DC with brother Malcolm in November 1973 at age 18. With production by brother George and Harry Vanda, AC/DC released their debut album in February 1975 and quickly became stars in Australia.
