# The remote move

Same salary. New city.

The archive follows workers who could retain their jobs while moving to lower-cost locations when remote work expanded.

- **The choice:** Whether to move, if work and family circumstances allow.

- **The circumstances:** Remote-work permission expands during the pandemic.

- **A different position:** A movable job offers a choice that many other jobs cannot.

## What this does not tell us

The option was not available to every occupation or household. A lower rent is not a universal outcome.
